Andrew Apel, the editor in chief of GMObelus, has been covering news in the field of agricultural biotechnology since 1996. He is a former editor of AgBiotech Reporter and former staff writer for both Seed & Crops Digest and Implement & Tractor Magazine. On occasion, he is guest editor of AgBioView.

He is a veteran of numerous speaking engagements, which include presentations on corporate ethics to The Conference Board and the US Sentencing Commission, and on agricultural biotechnology at Harvard's Kennedy School of of Government and the Vatican's Pontifical Academy of Science.
